Transportation / Logistics

Our Transportation Service objective is to provide right service to your company in maintaining high levels of service and reliability. We also provide complete visibility into your product movements and optimize your costs on transportation by putting together the best possible combination of systems, carriers, and resources.

The key areas of transportation include:

Port Movements

We manage port-related activities such as vessel operation, cargo handling equipment, locomotives, trucks, vehicles, and storage and warehousing facilities for cargo and passenger transportation, as well as the construction and maintenance of supporting infrastructure.

Commodities Transportation

Manage your logistics for each delivery, from planning to selecting the transportation type and entering the required departure and arrival locations. Commodities transportation is becoming a bigger part of what we do for our customers.

Route surveys, viability studies, and shipping models, including possible worldwide vessel and aircraft charters, are also developed by our team. We use our crane and rigging services to transfer over-sized cargo or heavy lift while delivering a comprehensive freight logistics solution from ‘site to site.’

Factory Movements

We have the skills, track record, and competency for all high-value or delicate capital equipment removals, from single machinery moves to whole factory relocations. For original equipment manufacturers and end-users for a variety of industries, we have extensive expertise with machine movements and whole site relocations.

Our teams arrive fully equipped for the job, with everything from machine skates and hydraulic scoots to air flotation systems, packaging equipment, forklifts, and lifting systems.

Process Overview:

The transportation process is a critical component for us, and we ensure the efficient movement of goods to their destination. Our detailed step-wise stages (as below) are designed to optimize costs, delivery times, and resource utilization.

  1. Planning & Scheduling: Before transportation begins, we plan and schedule shipments.
  2. Order Processing & Documentation: Once the plan is in place, we process shipment orders as per the schedule and prepare necessary documents.
  3. Loading & Dispatching: Labeling goods for proper handling, preparing dispatch notes, and notifying parties with tracking details.
  4. Transportation & Tracking: During transit, GPS tracking and RFID are used to monitor shipments.
  5. Delivery & Unloading: Upon reaching the destination, unloading, inspection, and confirmation of proof of delivery are completed.

Modes of Transportation in Logistics

Different transportation modes serve different purposes:

  • Road Transport (trucks, vans) – Best for short to medium distances.
  • Rail Transport (trains) – Cost-effective for bulk goods over long distances.
  • Air Transport (cargo planes) – Fastest but most expensive.
  • Sea Transport (ships, cargo vessels) – Ideal for international trade and heavy shipments.
  • Intermodal Transport – Using multiple modes (e.g., ship to truck) for efficiency.

Importance of an Efficient Transportation Process

  • Reduces costs by optimizing routes and vehicle usage.
  • Ensures timely delivery, improving customer satisfaction.
  • Minimizes damages with proper handling and tracking.
  • Enhances visibility using real-time tracking and automation.
